Five Day Trips from Marrakech
Are you in the middle of your Marrakech trip’s preparations and feeling totally lost and/or confused and/or unsure about what to do while you’re there?
I don’t blame you! There are so many options of things to do (and to see!) in and around Marrakech that planning your trip can get quite overwhelming at times, and you may find it difficult to make decisions as a result – especially when you’re only going to be there for a few days (I know that from experience).
Just like me you might want to do and see EVERYTHING! But, unless you’ll be staying in Marrakech for at least two weeks, or unless you intend to go back there in the future, doing and seeing it all in just a few days is just not humanly possible.
So, what do you pick! What’s worth doing and what isn’t?
Today I want to talk about five of the best day trips that I went on from Marrakech as a solo traveler between October 2022 and January 2024, hoping it will inspire you and help you choose the perfect one(s) for you. What you’ll read here is what you’ll get! No bad surprises on the day.
GetYourGuide Tip #1 : Do NOT book your tickets too much in advance! You will get the best prices by booking within the last two to three weeks before your day trip. Don’t worry, cancellation is FREE, usually up to 48h before the date of your booking. Make sure you check the activity provider’s cancellation policy first, for peace of mind.
GetYourGuide Tip #2 : Many activity providers offer what looks like the same day trips, however there are some differences between them all. My goal is for you to have the best time and get the most value, and so I’ve included links to the specific day trips that I’ve booked myself and which I’m talking about here. That way you know what to expect!
In my opinion this is the best water-based day trip you can do whilst you’re in Marrakech, especially during the hottest months! The easy guided hike shows a plethora of breathtaking views of the falls as well as the surrounding mountains, and you’ll get to visit an argan oil cooperative too. The boat ride at the end is not only refreshing but also so much fun! You can dive into the water as well. Finally you will eat a traditional three-course dinner with the best views over the falls and live Berber music before hanging out with Ouzoud’s monkeys.
